Glaze Overview

All your favorite Jungle Gems Crystal Glazes are now non-toxic, yet still provide all the
brilliant sparkle, explosion and color of the previous leaded version and are now safe for children. Apply to properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Use a soft fan brush to apply the first 2 to 3 coats and to apply the final coat which should primarily include crystals. Fire to shelf cone 06. If more flow is desired, fire to cone 05. Not recommended for dinnerware due to surface characteristics.

Underglazes are commercial products made up of finely ground clays and frits with oxides and stains. Underglazes usually require a clear or transparent glaze on top of them to seal the surface. You can paint, pour, spray, or dip the underglazes on your creations. Usually, underglazes require three coats. However, Clay-King offers one-coat products that are often fluxed to produce a low sheen.
