Creative Industries bats are manufactured of durable injection molded plastic. The "Easy Lift Rim" around the outside edge of all CI bats allows them to be easily lifted off the wheel head. CI bats are universal,  incorporating both the 9" and 10" center  pin systems.

• 7" square- great for production because they take up less space on your drying rack $3.50 each

• 14" round- these are the perfect fit for your C.I. wheel and are also great for expanding a 12" wheel head to accommodate larger work $6.75 each

North Star Equipment

North Star Equipment produces precision-made bats of high-quality materials.

Duron - Often called "Masonite" is 1/4 inch thick, smooth on both sides, oil tempered, and least expensive.  These bats do require care-- they must be stored dry  and reversed with each use to prevent warping. Pin holes are 10" apart.

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) Plastic - By far our most popular bats, these 1/4 inch thick bats have a matte finish on both sides to hold and release clay more easily; plus the pin holes are drilled all the way through for ease of use.  These are permanent, no-maintenance bats that are nearly indestructible and will never warp.  Pin holes are 10" apart.

The North Star Universal Insert Bat -
All production bats but one are simply flat circles intended for wheel heads with two batpins.  The exception is the Universal Insert Bat which saves space when making pieces with a small footprint.  The outer bat is 1/2 inch thick Medex and the inserts are 1/4 inch Duron which fit flush with the top of the outer bat. Inserts remove easily yet fit snugly enough that the cavity stays free of clay and slurry.
