BRONZE CLAY |
||
|
Just as PMC does, BRONZclay provides an incredible artistic range. And,
because it is bronze, it is also so economical that you can use it for
large pieces even sculptures very affordably! Like its precious-metal
counterparts, BRONZclay can be pinched, rolled, sculpted, cut or
manipulated any way you like. Then fire it, and the binder burns away,
leaving a solid, pure bronze object. Create jewelry, jewelry components,
or custom-crafted specialized tools. You can even practice new
techniques or design ideas using BRONZclay, then apply your new skills
to precious metals. Composition: Metal powder (11% tin, 89% copper), water and non-toxic binding materials. Shrinkage: 17–20% Firing: Ramp at 250°F/hour to 1550°F (843°C) and hold for 3 hours Please Note: BRONZclay must be embedded in activated carbon inside a firing pan during firing. Carbon and firing pan are sold separately. |

| FASTFIRE BRONZE CLAY | ||
|
The faster way to fire! FASTfire BRONZclay drastically cuts your firing
time making it ideal for production work, the classroom, or for those
times when you just want to bring your creations to life a bit quicker.
With FASTfire BRONZclay, you can fire your pieces in 2 hours or less (depending on the thickness of your piece, the size of your firing pan, and the type of kiln). Just like original BRONZclay, FASTfire BRONZclay provides an incredible artistic range. And, because it is bronze, it is also so economical that you can use it for large pieces even sculptures very affordably! It can be pinched, rolled, sculpted, cut or manipulated any way you like. Then fire it, and the binder burns away, leaving a solid, pure bronze object. Composition: Metal powder (90% copper, 10% tin), water & non-toxic binding materials Shrinkage: 5–10% Firing Temp.: Ramp at 1525°F (829°C) per hour. Hold at 1525°F (829°C) for one hour (total firing time is less than 2 hours). Please Note: These are the actual internal temperatures, not the temperature readings displayed on the front of the kiln Please Note: FASTfire BRONZclay must be embedded in coconut shell–activated carbon inside a firing pan with a slotted lid during firing. Carbon, firing pan and lid are sold separately. Because kilns vary, try a test piece in your kiln according to the enclosed instructions. IMPORTANT: We do not recommend firing loose gemstones directly in FASTfire clay as the stones tend to be damaged during firing. |

| COPPER CLAY | ||
|
Just as PMC does, COPPRclay provides an incredible artistic range. And,
because it is copper, it is also so economical that you can use it for
large pieces even sculptures very affordably! Like its precious-metal
counterparts, COPPRclay can be pinched, rolled, sculpted, cut or
manipulated any way you like. Then fire it, and the binder burns away,
leaving a solid, pure copper object. Create jewelry, jewelry components,
or custom-crafted specialized tools. You can even practice new
techniques or design ideas using COPPRclay, then apply your new skills
to precious metals. And because COPPRclay is pure copper, it’s great for
artists who enjoy applying enamels (make sure to follow the recommended
firing schedule included with your COPPRclay and listed on copprclay.com).
Composition: Metal powder (pure copper), water and non-toxic binding materials. Shrinkage: 20% (approx.) • Firing Temp.: Ramp at full speed to 1700°F–1800°F (927°C–982°C) and hold for 3 hours (total firing time, including ramp-time, will be about 4 hours). Most firings perform well at 1700°F. However, if you discover that your pieces are not sintering properly, try firing them at 1800°F. Please Note: Blistering may occur at 1800°F; if this occurs, slightly decrease the firing temperature. If you plan to enamel the piece, please follow the recommended firing schedule listed in the included instructions. Please Note: COPPRclay must be fired in coconut shell–based carbon inside a firing pan. Firing pan and coconut shell–based activated carbon available separately. |
