The RS232 is a computer port mounted to
the kiln. You can monitor the kiln from a computer and store a
record of each firing on your hard drive. Print graphs of firings.

CONTROLLERS (VENT CONTROL)
The AOP (Auxiliary Output) is an
electrical outlet mounted to the kiln. Plug either a downdraft vent
or an external alarm into the AOP. Control the vent with Cone-Fire
or Ramp-Hold modes.
The heavy-duty ST8 stand raises your
kiln to a convenient 28" height. Begin operating your new kiln
without having to find a table strong enough to support it. The
table is 147 pounds of rock-solid construction. Ships fully

The GL-18ADTSD digital kiln fires from the top, three
sides, and door for unsurpassed heat distribution. It is 13? high inside
with room to bend glass for curved windows or cabinet doors and to
repair lamp shades. Make huge glass-fused platters. Crack the door to
drag a rod across the softened glass or to emboss designs in the
surface.
Paragon?s GL-series are made for years of rigorous firing, as artists
all over America can attest. The insulating firebrick, wrapped in
heavy-gauge steel, soak up heat for slow, even cooling.
The GL-series lid elements use a new element groove that eliminates
element pins. The element coils are wider than the groove opening, so
the elements stay in place without pins.
The spring-pressure latch and a ?" recess around the edge of the
firebrick door seal the door tight. The door remains rock-steady on a
heavy hinge shaft. Four hand lifts aid moving. The base is open in the
back and slotted to dissipate heat.
Watch the red-hot glass through two tapered peepholes, drilled one above
the other in the wall opposite the switch box. Peephole plugs are
included.
Use the kiln?s side heat for taller projects such as drop-out vases
sagged through a ring mold. Side elements, seated in dropped, recessed
brick grooves, span the three walls in four horizontal rows.
Door elements offer unsurpassed heat distribution for difficult pieces.
(The door, with elements, is always hinged on the right side.)
The GL-18ADTSD uses infinite control switches to balance the heat
between top and side/door elements. It is also equipped with a door
safety switch. When the door opens, the switch shuts off the elements
while leaving the temperature controller on.
