The optional
motor attachment has a 1/3 HP industrial motor that is
totally enclosed to prevent damage from dust and water. The drive system
uses a rubber drive wheel, which contacts the edge of the flywheel. When
not on use, the motor remains retracted and turns off automatically. The
motor attachment can be added for $235.00 or may be purchased separately for $285.00

kickwheels are efficiently designed to provide maximum
performance and durability. Since 1970, they have been built to the
highest standards of quality, meeting the most stringent demands of
professional and amateur potters alike. The frame is formed entirely of
rigid steel pipe which is galvanized to be rust proof. The bolt together
construction eliminates the common problems of tight corners and
stairways. The frames unique design has a 4 point stance which offers
stability unmatched on the market today. The 140 pound flywheel is
accurately cast with a full two inches of concrete. This, combined with
the true balancing of every flywheel, gives you a precision wheel at a
reasonable price. The flywheel turns a standard 12" cast aluminum
wheel head. At the time of purchase, a 14" head is available as an
option in exchange for the 12" head. The seat is completely
adjustable, both forward and back, up and down. This, combined with the
adjustable footrests, makes the Thomas Stuart kickwheel comfortable for
everyone. The large tabletop and seat are made of selected plywoods and
are sealed with several coats of a marine varnish for lasting
durability. Anti-skid surfaces on both footrests and the flywheel, plus
the elimination of all sharp corners, gives you a wheel safe for
classroom and studio use.
