The Cone Art / Shimpo kiln model BX4227-D Kiln is a massive 16.5 cubic feet oval kiln with a full 42" width, 31" from front to back and a 27" depth. It is designed for a busy production or sculpture studio. It fires easily to a true cone 10. It has double insulated walls with 2 ½ " premium brick plus 1" of block insulation. If your artwork, school program, or studio does not require the heavy-duty extras of the double-wall series, then consider a ConeArt single-wall kiln. They have the same premium materials and attention to detail as the double walled kilns, including easy access wiring, air-cooled wiring panel, premium firebrick, stainless steel jacket, welded stainless steel stand and a two-year warrantee. This double insulation saves approximately 30% in electricity cost and has a safer, cooler jacket. Kanthal A-1 elements, stainless steel jacket and fitings, and excellent Cone Art craftsmanship are all standard. The Bartlett electronic controller is mounted in an angled, easy view control panel for precise control. This kiln is equipped with a counter weight lid lifter and a Bartlett electronic controller with 3 Zone Control panel mounted on an angle for easy viewing. |
