DYNA-GLOW CERAMIC ELEMENT HOLDERS
THE ELEMENT IS SUPPORTED IN A VERY HARD, DENSE CERAMIC CHANNEL-NOT IN SOFT FIREBRICK GROOVES Unique feature on all L&L kilns. Protects interior firebrick from cracked and broken routed element channels. No pins required to hold elements in place. Improves firing efficiency-hot elements are not insulated from the interior of the kiln by insulating firebrick. Kilns are easier to repair-much easier to change elements with less chance of damaging kiln. THREE-YEAR WARRANTY All L&L Kilns and vents have a three-year, limited warranty. Elements and thermocouples have a prorated warranty based on time (like tires). This warranty is the easiest way L&L can communicate their confidence in their high quality products to new customers. EASY-OPEN, EASY-LOAD HINGE
No support bars on the side are necessary-makes kiln accessible from all sides for easy loading. Hinge allows you to load the kiln without a heavy lid hanging over your head. Spring assist makes lifting the heavy lid easier. Made from corrosion resistant galvannealed steel. Hinge body ties all the kiln sections together for a solid, sturdy kiln-better than latches. EASY-FIRE PANELS Easy-fire control panels maintain the L&L tradition of having a panel separated from the kiln while still allowing us to eliminate the plug-in cords. Wires pull off terminal strips for quick disconnect of panel. All wires are color coded or numbered. The separate panel opens up with two screws for easy troubleshooting by anyone with electrical experience. THERMOCOUPLE PROTECTION
Mullite (Ceramic) thermocouple protection tubes protect thermocouple from degradation. In tests with 23 other thermocouple combinations and type, this combination of a standard 8-gauge type K thermocouple lasted 131 cone 10 firings with a 1/2 hour soak. Tube protects against spalling of thermocouple metal in the kiln, which can effect and discolor work. The thermocouple is completely sealed from the kiln-so no metal can flake off into the kiln. CERAMIC ELEMENT CONNECTIONS
INDUSTRIAL TYPE ELEMENT CONNECTIONS WITH SPECIAL MOLDED CERAMIC BLOCKS Elements are twisted around stainless steel screws mounted on solid ceramic terminal blocks. The entire assembly is mechanically secure and solid. All contact between elements and wire lugs is over a wide surface of heavily torqued, stainless steel washers. Changing elements requires no special tools. Wires are not crimped to element ends as in some other brands. This means you can change elements yourself without buying an expensive tool or hiring a kiln repair person.

BOTTOMS THREE ADJUSTABLE CASE CLAMPS PER SECTION
The stainless steel case of each kiln section is held together by three adjustable stainless steel clamps. Behind the clamps, the stainless steel case is reinforced with a piece of aluminized steel to prevent distortion. This makes this type of construction much stronger than other kilns. These clamps are easily accessible for adjustment. Two clamps are used on lids and bottoms. CLICK HERE FOR INFORMATION ON VENT-SURE--KILN VENT SYSTEM!!! TECHNICAL SUPPORT

PREMIUM FIREBRICK All L&L Kilns use premium grade K23 brick. These bricks are highly insulating and lightweight. 3" Brick is more energy efficient than 2˝" firebrick especially when doing high fires or long soaks. 3" brick allows for a slower natural cool down. Easy-Fire e28S and e28T kilns use 3" as standard. e23S and e23T kilns can be ordered with 3" brick at a minimal upgrade cost. SPECIAL BRICK COATING & HARDENER Firebrick coated with a proprietary reflective ceramic coating which penetrates, binds and hardens the surface of the entire interior of the kiln. This reduces brick dusting, which promotes a clean interior of the kiln. It also increases brick life by reducing chipping and spalling and increases operating efficiency and uniformity by reflecting heat back into the kiln MOST MODELS RATED TO CONE 10 (2350°F) Cone 10 is hot enough to fire stoneware and porcelain. DYNATROL AUTOMATIC CONTROL
There are four Easy-Fire ceramic programs built into the Dynatrol. All the main options for these programs include hold time, preheat time, delay time and alarm temperature are easy to use. For the more advance users, there are six user-defined programs with eight steps each. DYNAMIC ZONE CONTROL-STANDARD The DynaTrol features Dynamic Zone Control. It is like having three controls in one. The DynaTrol separately measures temperatures in the bottom, middle and top of the kiln and automatically adjusts the heat output of three separate heating zones even as the kiln is heating up. Kiln temperatures are automatically evened out to within 1/2 cone or better top to bottom. There is no manual intervention with input switches. There are separate thermocouples (heat sensors) and contactors (power controls) for each of the three zones. You have the ability to adjust the “lag” or differential between zones, (anywhere from 5 degrees to 99 degrees). HEAVY-DUTY ELEMENTS-STANDARD
All elements are the same for easy and economical replacement and are evenly coiled. Elements are coiled on a special automatic machine that puts the proper spacing in the coil. Evenly coiled elements mean no hot spots and longer element life. Elements are optimized for firing conditions. The wire gauge is the heaviest possible gauge we can use and still get the optimum watt density and stretch ratio. Heavy-duty elements use thicker wire and have a lower watt density (watts per square inch of element surface area). The lower the watts density the cooler the elements can run and the longer they last. SECTIONAL CONSTRUCTION Easy-fire kilns are sectional. They can easily be taken apart and put back together in about 30 minutes. This makes them easy to install and move. Handles are included on each section and hinge and front panel (also easily removable) hold kiln together. FULL SUPPORT STANDS
Easy-fire stands made of 14 gauge aluminized steel, which will not corrode at high temperatures. The flat part of the stand has two bends on each edge and the stand legs have three bends. This dramatically increases the actual strength of the stand. Full support of kiln bottom means that even if your bottom gets cracked, you will not lose support. Cracking is much less likely to occur in the first place with this superior support. Legs include plastic protectors for floor and stands are 8" high. 1" DIAMETER PEEPHOLES
Peepholes are a full one inch diameter. They are not tapered as in many other brands, which makes it easier to actually see inside the kiln. Peephole plugs are solid cast ceramic-not fragile slip cast pieces that can easily break. Peephole plug includes a stepped head that retains heat around the opening when plugged. c-UL-us LISTING
All Easy-Fire kilns are c-UL-us listed except for 480 volt and 380 volt kilns. This listing was recently renewed in 2000. We had our entire line carefully reexamined and retested because of all the changes we have made since the listing was initially obtained in the 1970's. The Easy-Fire kilns were tested in February 2003. ON/OFF SWITCH & FUSE
Surprising, not all kilns come with an on/off switch. This means you MUST turn off the kiln with either the circuit breaker or the fused disconnect switch. While it is good practice to turn off a kiln in that way it is not always convenient. COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS L&L Kilns come with the best and most complete instructions for kilns. Instructions come in a 3-ring binder, fully tabbed for easy use. Instructional video is also included.
